Headteacher's Welcome

BISM is a school of over 650 students which retains the spirit of a small school. We were founded 15 years ago in a small campus with a handful of pupils and a committed group of parents who together with staff fostered a strong community spirit. Since then we have grown into much larger community representing over 50 nationalities while still retaining its warm, welcoming ethos.

We are ambitious with regards to what we believe our pupils can achieve. We expect our students to do well academically and we don’t settle for less when we feel someone can do better. We don’t place undue pressure on pupils but rather work with them in fostering a habit of doing things well and seeking out ways to improve so that eventually good results simply come naturally.

One of our ambitions is for every student to have an interesting and fulfilling school experience. This we try to achieve in several ways. We offer a range of activities beyond the classroom for students to explore and develop interests. In a manner that is perhaps unique to our school, we also give pupils greater choice over what they would like to learn, something that you can discover more about as you explore this website. And we try to do all these things to the highest possible standard with a constant eye on improvement.

The vast majority of our students eventually go on to further education, and many of them aim for places at top universities around the world. We support that effort very closely, working together with families as early as possible to make sure students are well on track to succeed in life beyond BISM.
