Chinese New Year at BISM

Chinese New Year at BISM

This week, BISM came alive with colour and celebration as students marked Chinese New Year. Classrooms and corridors were decorated with vibrant red lanterns and traditional paper cuttings, while pupils learned about Chinese New Year traditions, customs, and zodiac animals.

Younger students joined the festivities by crafting intricate dragons, singing Chinese songs, and writing lucky messages in calligraphy.

A highlight of the week was a hands-on culinary experience, where our Year 7 and 8 pupils rolled up their sleeves to prepare homemade spring rolls from scratch, following guidance and original recipes from their Chinese teacher, Miss Na. Overall, it was a joyful and immersive celebration that brought our whole school community together.
